  • Auditor's view: we calculate and document the way a German tax audit expects.
  • From the tax return to tax audits, voluntary disclosure and the tax court.
  • Fees are public: minimum fee for an income tax return EUR 2,380.00 per tax year, incl. VAT.

What you get with us

Six services that together make a return that stands up to an audit.

Your data, sorted

We prepare exports from exchanges and wallets, allocate transfers and separate wallets by address. We name missing records before the tax office asks.

2

Calculation to an auditor's standard

Holding period, disposal sequence and rewards calculated and documented in a way that can be followed. We show you which method holds in your case.

3

A return ready to file

Annex SO and, where needed, further annexes: complete, with the derivation of every item.

4

Evidence that holds

Documentation that answers queries: which transaction, which rate, which wallet.

5

Representation before the tax office

Queries, objections, suspension of enforcement and cases before the tax court.

6

Order in earlier years

Open years caught up in an orderly way, with a voluntary disclosure where needed.

Our fees are public: see Fees. The minimum fee for an income tax return is EUR 2,380.00 per tax year, including VAT.

Who this is for

You live in Germany, or you are about to. German tax law applies to you.

If you live in Germany, your crypto is taxed under German rules, whichever exchange you used and wherever you come from. The tax office writes in German, the forms are in German, and the deadlines are real. We handle the filing and the correspondence with the tax office, and we explain every figure in English before anything is submitted.

Why the auditor's view makes the difference

We know the questions before they are asked.

Matthias Steger was a German tax auditor for nine years and has been active in crypto since 2016, first as an investor and, since 2018, as a lecturer for tax advisers. That is our standard for private and business clients: every figure must be provable the way an auditor would ask for it.

  • We run cases. We look for the cases best suited to settle a question and take them to the tax court, for example the disposal sequence (Berlin-Brandenburg Tax Court, suspension of enforcement on 12 June 2026). As counsel we know the arguments of both sides. See the case register.
  • We work with software. We review crypto tax software and see opportunities to make selectable methods such as FIFO, LIFO and HIFO usable on a court-backed footing. Compliance review
  • We are where the rules are made. Matthias Steger was an expert witness before the Finance Committee of the German Bundestag. Expertise

How we work with you

In English, from the first call to the filed return.

Step 1

Call or call back

Leave your number and a preferred window, or call. The call back is free and without obligation. We call you on the next working day in the window you chose.

Step 2

First conversation

We clarify which years are affected, which exchanges and wallets were involved and whether a letter from the tax office has arrived.

Step 3

Documents through the encrypted channel

Documents and details of your tax position do not go through WhatsApp. We provide an encrypted channel for that.

Questions and answers

Do you advise in English?
Yes. We advise in English throughout, including the correspondence with the German tax office. We explain every figure in English before anything is submitted.
Do I have to pay German tax on crypto if I only moved to Germany recently?
If you live in Germany, German tax rules apply to your crypto transactions. What exactly is taxable depends on when and how you acquired and sold. We clarify this in the call back. For people arriving from abroad, see our page on moving to Germany.
Where is your office and do you work for clients throughout Germany?
Our office is in Potsdam, near Berlin (Dennis-Gabor-Straße 2, 14469 Potsdam). We advise clients throughout Germany and internationally.
What does it cost?
The minimum fee for an income tax return is EUR 2,380.00 per tax year, including VAT. That includes five hours of review and processing of transactions and the annexes SO, N and R. Other fee bases apply to high sale proceeds and businesses. All fees are on the fees page.
The tax office has written to me in German. What should I do?
Do not hand over documents or login credentials before you have been advised. Note the deadline in the letter and call us. Depending on the case, a tax audit, a tax investigation or a voluntary disclosure is the right starting point.
What makes you different from other advisers?
We calculate to the standard of a tax audit because Matthias Steger was a tax auditor for nine years. We also run cases before tax courts and know the arguments of both sides. The cases are in our case register.
